They also learn skills they need for study, work and relationships such as: confidence. In today’s world it is difficult to balance work life and home schedules, parents find it difficult to have quality time with their children. It is essential for parents to make the best use of time they have with their children. Kids need your time to relax and play. This in turn helps in building lasting bond. While playing parents also get to know the different attributes of their child. It is the best way to connect with your child. Play helps in developing language and socialization skills. It also enhances child’s communication skills, to think, be creative and solve problems. There are various types of play which are as follows: –
- Unoccupied play(0-3months)
- Solitary play(3-18months)
- Parallel play (18months-2 years)

There are many benefits to play. Children gain knowledge through play. They learn to think, remember and solve problems. Play gives the child opportunities to test their beliefs around them.
It is an essential and critical part of every child’s development. Play basically starts in the child’s infancy and ideally, continues throughout their life. Play connects children with their imagination, their environment, their parents, family and world. Parent-child play opens doors for the sharing of values, increases communication, allows for teachable moments and assist in problem solving.
