We offer five programs at Little One Preschool. These are: Play group, Pre nursery, Nursery, Prep, Mom and Me.

. Little One comes with a legacy of 77 Years. It is managed and run by professionals, headed by Shri Shishir Jaipuria  Chairman of Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group Educational Institutions. As a preschool we provide to a child a blend of holistic development and value-based learning which is an amalgamation of western culture and Indian culture.

Our curriculum is derived from the best childhood practices across the globe, making it age-appropriate, highly child-centered and child-responsive for their holistic development. Fully recognizing that each child is unique, we bring to our children a dynamic and ever- evolving curriculum, to suit their individual development.

Seven Garden Concept (Seven Outdoor Learning Spaces) is basically defined for the development of children, where we create 7 different ways of teaching. Learning happens when we connect with nature. Keeping this thought in mind; we have designed our school in such a way that it has dedicated 7 outdoor spaces in it. They are as follows:

MUSIC LAWN

Singing and music play an important role in our culture. You'll find music present in many aspects of our lives: theatre, television, movies, worship, holidays, celebrations, and government and military ceremonies. At home, music can become part of our family culture – a natural part of our everyday experiences. Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness: intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. Music affects the growth of the child’s brain academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually too. Keeping in mind we have a Music Lawn in our school, which has DIY musical instruments which are placed in a way that they are in the reach of the children. Security of children has been kept in mind while designing this. Music Lawn is a transition garden for them. A dedicated music wall has been created to bring the feel of music to that area. The beautifully designed and decorated DIY musical instruments are specially made for the kids so that, they can play and enjoy the different sounds coming out from each of them.

  1. We generally engage our children in various extra-curricular activities. Music is one such activity which helps in the overall development of the child.
  2. Children who study music tend to have larger vocabularies and more advanced reading skills than the other children.
  3. It is believed that music education can build communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving and innovative skills.
  4. Music training in childhood ‘fundamentally alters the nervous system such that neural changes persist in adulthood after auditory training has ceased.
  5. Everyday listening skills are stronger in musically trained children than in those without music training.
  6. Children with learning abilities or dyslexia who tend to lose focus with more noise could benefit greatly from music lessons.
  7. Music education equips students to be creative & also sharpens their attentiveness.

OLYMPIC STRIP

We all have heard the old saying “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Allowing children to participate in outdoor extracurricular activities, such as sports, helps them explore and develop skills which are considered beneficial throughout their lives. By participating in sports, children are exposed to various mental, social, emotional, physical and educational benefits.

We have an Olympic strip in our school. The material that is used is soft and doesn’t have the sharp edges. Sports and games encompass more than just the benefits of physical things, it increases confidence, self-esteem and mental alertness which makes them an essential part of the curriculum. Games and sports should be made an integral part of a student’s life. He/she should also get involved in playing games to derive the health and vigour of life. Times are changing and games and sports which were looked upon merely as a ‘period of break’, have now become a new medium which helps to develop the inborn sports talents of students.

  2. Sports also results in improvement of confidence, self-esteem for students who are not strong in academics.
  3. It helps to strengthen student’s belief system, which may result in improved academic performance.

  5. It enhances teamwork and problem solving skills of the students.
  6. Sports provide children with the important lesson of learning how to work in a team. Everyone has to come together to achieve the goal. By working together, they will learn each other’s strengths and weaknesses and will be better able to decide and strategize the best plan for the team.

 

SENSORY GARDEN

The sensory gardens improve physical fitness, health, mood and cognition. Gardening and plant care help children develop gross and fine motor skills. Time outdoors, breathing fresh air, and being exposed to sunlight are extremely beneficial to the children’s overall physical health.

Sensory gardens have many therapeutic benefits and increases sense of sight, sound, taste, touch and scent. They help children develop important life skills including emotional regulation and self-reliance. As children spend time in the garden, waiting patiently for a seed to sprout and a flower to bloom, they gain an understanding of time and develop the attributes of patience and persistence. A sensory garden creates an opportunity for the children to experience textures, tastes and sounds they may otherwise not be exposed to, such as a beautiful birdsong, a velvety rose petal, a jagged rock, moist dirt, tiny seeds and large shading trees. This type of sensory stimulation is critical to healthy brain development.

ZEN STORY GARDEN

Storytelling forms a crucial part in developing your child’s overall personality. By telling stories to children that come with a meaningful message, we can definitely inculcate qualities like wisdom, courage, honesty, etc. from an early age into our little one. So keeping these developmental parameters in mind we at Little One designed the Zen Story Garden. The concept behind setting the reading corner in a garden is that the child comes in contact with mother nature and feel relaxed while his story sessions The place creates the perfect mood and ambience for storytelling. The sitting for the same is made comfortable with the arrangements of chair for those who want to sit and rubber mats with the cushions for those who want to lie down and enjoy the reading time. To connect kids more closely to the story the garden is setup with the props and other materials used in the story.

  1. Storytelling for kids ensures that they are not only more attentive, but are also keen to listen and understand.  It enhances verbal proficiency they end up talking more, rather than listening.
  2. Instead of seeing it on a visual medium the child imagines the characters, places, plots etc. therefore it encourages creativity and imagination power.
  3. Storytelling helps to increase child’s memory. This is a fun way to increase and sharpen the memory and encourage concentration.
  4. Young children may not always be exposed to the different cultures and countries of the world. Through the medium of storytelling, we can make him familiar about the various places and cultures across the world. It broadens horizon for them.
  5. It helps them in learning their subjects better and makes academic learning easier.
  6. Storytelling helps children in learning the art of asking the right question. Regular reading and listening can make them better orators.
  7. Most children usually have a lesser attention span and find it difficult to concentrate on something thing for long. Storytelling for kids ensures that they are not only more attentive, but are also keen to listen and understand.

 

LITTLE FARMER’S FIELD

The Farmer's field program is a full-sensory farm and nature program for our preschool. At farmer’s field, we aim to connect children to the outdoors and their community through outdoor play and meaningful farm work. Children will help us care for the plants and we will embark on our nature exploration. In the farm field no matter the weather we will have first-hand experience of the shifting seasons and natural changes throughout the year. This means that we will be outside in the sun, the rain. This hands-on farm and nature experience will gift your child a deeper connection to the natural world while developing resilience, self-confidence, and independence.

  5. Understanding the value of our nature by sensitizing them about the environment

KIDS GREEN PLAY AREA

Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them.

Play is important to healthy development of the brain; Undirected play helps children learn how to work collaboratively, to share, to negotiate, to resolve conflicts, and learn self-advocacy skills.Play and unscheduled time that allows for peer interactions is an important component of social-emotional learning; and.

With all of the structured activities and the strictly scheduled lives that many kids have these days, some are left without any real time to just play, which is considered a birth right by many experts. Structured activities have replaced some of the free play time. If you are a proverbial soccer parent driving your kids from place to place constantly, they may be overscheduled.

Other factors that have led to a decrease in free play time include an emphasis on academic preparation, electronic media replacing playtime, less time spent playing outdoors, perceived risk of play environments, and limited access to outdoor play spaces.

It is so important to let kids play for healthy brain development, the benefits of free play include:

  • Allows kids to use their creativity and develop their imagination, dexterity, and other strengths.
  • Encourages kids to interact with the world around them.
  • Helps kids conquer their fears and build their confidence.
  • Teaches kids to work in groups so they learn to share and resolve conflicts.
  • Helps kids practice decision-making skills.
  • It is fun.
  • Physical activity helps build active, healthy bodies and helps prevent obesity.
  • Helps kids develop social and emotional ties, both within the family and with other children.
  • Builds creativity and ability to come up with unique ideas.
  • Develops motor planning skills, helping the child to create and carry out ideas, motor actions, and activities.
  • Fosters decision-making skills.  Unstructured play provides many opportunities to make choices while playing alone or while playing in a group.
  • Fosters independence.  Helps children learn to think independently and teaches them how to entertain themselves.
  • Develops social skills and collaborative play skills.  Free play allows children to develop conflict resolution skills and learn to take turns.  It also helps children develop their skills as leaders and as followers.
  • Provides opportunities for children to discover their interests and skills!

It is important to note that free play does not include time with electronics, such as the television, video games, or computer.  True free play is child initiated, spontaneous and guided by the child’s imagination without the direction of an adult.

When the child is free to play, he develops all his personality traits during it. He learns how to communicate with peers, to act or react in different situations, to respect some rules, etc.

It is important to note that this kind of play is meant to be unstructured, child-driven play. It is not the kind of play time that is totally controlled by adults and doesn't include passive play, such as sitting in front of a video game, computer, or TV.

Examples of other Free Play:

  • True free play is any kind of unstructured activity that encourages your child to use his imagination, such as playing with blocks, dolls, and toy cars. It wouldn't include playing with most electronic toys.
  • Playing on playground equipment, climbing, swinging, running around.
  • Drawing, colouring, painting, cutting, and gluing with art supplies.
  • Playing make-believe and dress-up
  • Reading and looking at books they enjoy, not as part of homework or study

 

MONUMENTAL GARDEN

Gone are the days when only academic programs were the only activities organised in schools and all students focused on that. With the changing trend we have noticed a major difference in the field of academics too. Co-curricular activity essentially takes place outside a typical pen and pencil classroom experience. It gives the students an opportunity to develop particular skills and exhibit their non-academic abilities. We have one Monumental Garden in our school which aims in enhancing the imagination, creativity, visualization and the power of experiential learning.

The power of visualization has been instrumental in turning dreams into reality. Replaying the mental vision and imagining of different places, events, celebrations or any person makes you learn more about the things or events by experiencing it yourself. Creating an ambience related to the event gives you not just the knowledge but also builds sensitivity and awareness towards it.

Learning through Play is an important part of our curriculum as it not only enhances a child creativity and imagination, but also goes a long way in their social development. It is during play that the child learns to interact with his peers and adults in the environment and develops skills like team – spirit, sharing, caring and leadership qualities. Play helps children develop agility, physical and cognitive abilities, gross and fine motor skills and overall healthy brain development.  

As per our admission process, these are the following documents need to be provided.

  • Birth Certificate
  • Photographs of Child
  • Photographs each of Parents/ Guardian
  • Vaccination Card of the child
  • Covid Vaccination certificates of parents
  • Aadhaar card of parents/ child

Our staff is constantly monitoring the environment at our center to ensure that all children can play, learn, and interact in a safe and nurturing indoor and outdoor classroom.

  • Safety starts with perimeter cameras and a security gate, where families must key in to reach the front door.
  • Sign in and sign out sheets enable staff to monitor who drops off and picks up each child.
  • Your child will be released only to those individuals whom you list in the child’s enrollment records. A Photo I.D. is required.  All records are kept on a secure site on our computers.
  • Parents or guardians may enter the facility at any time to observe or pick up their child.
  • Fingerprinting and background checks are performed on all staff and volunteers.
  • Fences and locked gates surround the facility.
  • Low teacher-child ratios ensure that there are sufficient teachers and other adults available to adequately supervise the children in care.
  • Classroom doors and classroom walls have windows for monitoring.
  • Our staff is certified in CPR and First Aid as well as Universal Precautions.
  • We are a well center, monitoring every child’s health on a daily basis.  We notify parents when a child does not feel well to help prevent an illness from spreading.
  • Toys, surfaces, and floors are sanitized throughout the day to prevent the spread of germs.
  • Heat and smoke detectors monitor the facility.
  • Approved surfaces, fall zones, and playground equipment are installed in all outdoor pay areas.
  • A Disaster and Mass Casualty Plan has been developed and is regularly reviewed by the staff.  It is available in the main office.

Our teachers are facilitators, who observe the children, listen to them reflect and then offer them opportunity to experience, dig deeper and then construct their further knowledge.  Preschool teachers are loving and patient, and have a nurturing personality. Their main goal is to participate in a child's growth and development, learn to understand and help their students, and to use a child's natural curiosity to develop a learning plan that is developmentally appropriate. Preschool teachers need to create an atmosphere where risks can be taken and discoveries can be made all while maintaining a child safe environment.

We have experienced and loving teachers who our trained regularly about latest developments in early childhood education and child psychology.

Childhood assessment is a process of gathering information about a child, reviewing the information, and then using the information to plan educational activities that are at a level the child can understand and is able to learn from.

Assessment is a critical part of a high-quality, early childhood program. When educators do an assessment, they observe a child to get information about what he knows and what he can do.

Observing and documenting a child’s work and performance over the course of a year allows an educator to accumulate a record of the child’s growth and development. With this information, educators can begin to plan appropriate curriculum and effective individualized instruction for each child.

This assessment record is also a great tool to share with parents so they can follow their child’s progress at school, understand their child’s strengths and challenges, and plan how they can help extend the learning into their homes.

 Yes, Little one has separate uniforms for summers and winters.

A positive and constructive approach is often the best way to guide your child’s behaviour. This means giving your child attention when he behaves well, rather than just applying consequences when he does something you don’t like. Here are some practical tips for putting this positive approach into action. Tips for good behaviour:

The Medium of Instruction at Little One the Jaipuria Pre-School is English.

At Little One the Jaipuria School, the languages taught and spoken is English, along with Hindi/Regional language to make the children comfortable and enable them to communicate easy at school and home.

Parents can experience the school personally, we also have parents orientation workshop to guide the parents.

Little one the Jaipuria Pre-Schools are designed in such a way that parents can participate in various events and celebrations throughout the year.

Children can transfer from one Little one Jaipuria Pre-School to another.
