Yoga Day: The Joy of Well-Being

June 21st is celebrated as The International Day of Yoga all over the world. Our school was no exception. Students and teachers of Little One celebrated the International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. The students wowed one and all by demonstrating various challenging asanas. We at ‘Little One School’ believe that as Indians, we should be proud of our rich cultural heritage. The International Yoga Day was a perfect occasion to celebrate the joy of well-being, calling for a seamless union of the mind, body and the soul. Children observed yoga week at ‘Little One’. We as teachers always teach them the importance of good health. Our little ones are well aware how yoga helps them improve their inner strength, wisdom and confidence.

The consistent practice of yoga body posture and breathing exercise with daily meditation can help reduce stress in the mind and body. We at ‘Little One’ also tell them the benefits of yoga. Yoga helps strengthen children’s growing bodies and improves their flexibility, which can reduce their chance of injury. Yoga teaches discipline and reduces impulsivity. Yoga can reduce challenging behaviours in the classroom by providing a physical outlet for children to express themselves.
