Boost Self-esteem in kids

Self-esteem can be defined as an individual’s belief in their own value and ability to face challenges. Kids who feel good about themselves have the confidence to try new things. They are more likely to give their best. They feel proud of what they can do. Self-esteem helps kids cope with mistakes they make. It helps kids try again, even if they fail. As a result, self-esteem helps kids do better at school, at home, and with friends.  In the virtual session we allow them to do things first & then teach them the right way to do. We let them do what they can, even if they make mistakes. We ensure that each child gets a chance to learn, try, and feel proud. We make new challenges not too easy or too hard for them. As a loving parent, you obviously would want your child to grow up with a high level of self-esteem. Here are six easy ways to raise your child’s self-esteem provided by little ONE-The Jaipuria Pre School:

  • Give them choices: If you want your child to stand on their own choices let them not influence your choices rather offer them the list of choices & allow them to choose which will also develop decision making ability in them.
  • Praise your child: You can praise your child for their efforts, good behaviour, progress, and attitude, but do it wisely.
  • Don’t use harsh words: Make sure to show the positive sides of your child to others. The story you tell about your children, in their presence, to others, will get imprinted in their minds. Labels like “she doesn’t obey” or “he just doesn’t study” are more harsh rather use the phrases “she has started listening to me”, “he has become an obedient child”.
  • Positive vibes do work: Create a positive ambience for the children and think and reiterate the behaviour and the habits you want to inculcate in your child. This is definitely going to manifest into the reality you want in your children and will also lead to create positive attitude in your children.
  • Spend quality time with your children:. Read story books with them, Do exercise yoga, zumba & aerobics with them. This will help you to develop a bond with your children and eventually they will share their thoughts, ideas, fear and everything they feel with you.
